The greatest challenge of any business during a slow-down is keeping its customers and its sales volume.  Every business has its fixed overhead costs that are difficult to displace so regardless of many efforts to right size, there is an optimal point which cannot be passed.

Sustaining your business can be challenging but it doesn’t need to be as hard as it seems.  In any recession, competition begins to thin.  There are always customers regardless of your business, however there may be just fewer of them.  So what is the key to success for your business in a recession?

 Quite simply it’s building a relationship with the customer before your competitor does.  In fact, the world’s mega corporations spend hundreds of millions of dollars during the best of years on advertising, so then how much more do they spend on marketing  when business is slow?

 Are you doing the same?  Have you boosted your marketing strategy?   Are you trying new ways to present your product to potential customers?  Have you refreshed your website?  Is it optimized? Are you spending your marketing dollars wisely?  Are you participating in social media marketing?  Is your branding consistent on and offline?  Have you updated your profile picture?  This is what your competitors are doing, so if you want to compete, then you need to step up your game.

 I could go on but I think I’ve made my point.  This is not the time to abandon your company’s marketing projects.  Invest your time and money wisely by promoting your business effectively.  NOW is the best time for you business future!
